On May 31, 2017, The Astronauts organized an assembly to play at Taft Community School in Redwood City, CA with Pasto Seco Band. The event was a huge hit, attended by District staff and principals, as well as community members, and not to mention the 400 students at Taft!
The assembly focused on both the intersection between music and mindfulness and the importance of retaining our cultural heritage and respecting diversity. Students learned five tools to manage their emotions and be happier humans: breathing techniques, dancing, singing, making body rhythms, and conscious gratitude.
The Astronauts look forward to many more school assemblies as cool as this one.
